BlackLine, the cloud-based platform for the Office of the CFO, has acquired New York-based WiseLayer, a maker of AI-powered agents for finance and accounting. The acquisition will embed WiseLayer's judgment-capable AI agents into BlackLine's Verity suite to automate complex accounting workflows such as accruals and payroll; terms were not disclosed.

The deal closed Jan. 26, 2022 for $165 million in cash at close plus up to $75 million in earnouts, enhancing BlackLine's intercompany automation and compliance offerings for multinational finance teams.
