Microchip Technology Acquires Neuronix AI Labs

Microchip Technology has acquired Neuronix AI Labs to integrate the company’s neural-network sparsity optimization technology into Microchip’s low-power PolarFire FPGAs and SoCs. The acquisition aims to boost power-efficient edge AI performance for computer-vision and other constrained-edge deployments, enabling higher AI/ML throughput with lower size, power and cost.

AMD Acquires MK1

MK1’s Flywheel and comprehension engine technologies—optimized for AMD Instinct GPUs and reportedly processing over one trillion tokens per day—will integrate into the AMD Artificial Intelligence Group to strengthen the company’s enterprise AI inference and reasoning capabilities.
