Cairngorm Capital-backed Grant & Stone has acquired CRS Building Supplies Limited, merging the Somerset-based builders merchant into the Grant & Stone group as part of its buy-and-build strategy. The deal adds CRS’s 12 branches and local brand to Grant & Stone’s footprint, creating an enlarged group with 44 branches, over 500 employees and revenues in excess of £140m; the transaction was driven by the CRS owners' succession planning.

NMS Capital-backed CSL Consulting Acquires Brownstone Construction Group

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. has acquired Kimes & Stone, a soil stabilization and site development services provider, in an all-cash transaction for $7.6 million (approximately 3–4x EBITDA). The acquisition includes Kimes’ equipment fleet, working capital and management team, and is intended to vertically integrate Sterling’s specialty infrastructure services and expand capacity and geographic footprint across the U.S. Southeast.

SS&C Technologies Acquires Calastone from Carlyle

SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. has completed the acquisition of Calastone from global investment firm Carlyle for approximately £766 million (about US$1.03 billion). Calastone’s ~250 employees and global funds-network technology will join SS&C’s Global Investor & Distribution Solutions to strengthen SS&C’s fund operations, transfer agency and distribution capabilities; the deal was funded with cash and debt and is expected to be accretive within 12 months.
