Astatine Investment Partners Acquires McKeil Marine from TorQuest Partners

Astatine Investment Partners, a Greenwich, Connecticut–based infrastructure-focused private equity firm, has acquired McKeil Marine Limited, a Canadian marine transportation and project services provider, from TorQuest Partners. Astatine said it will partner with McKeil's management to expand the company's service offerings and fleet while leveraging McKeil's long-term inflation-linked contracts to provide downside protection.

The Sterling Group Forms Evergreen Platform by Acquiring CarbonLITE's Riverside PET Facility

The Sterling Group executed a carve-out of Evergreen (the PET recycling division of Greenbridge Packaging) and merged it with the Riverside, California assets of CarbonLITE acquired through a 363 bankruptcy process to form a national PET recycling platform, Evergreen. The deal gives Evergreen a West Coast presence and increases food-grade rPET manufacturing capacity, with the Riverside facility measuring 220,000 square feet and an estimated annual capacity of more than 100 million pounds of rPET.

Interstate Waste Services Acquires Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling

Interstate Waste Services, a PE-backed waste-by-rail operator, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling, expanding IWS's collection, transfer and recycling footprint into Southwestern Connecticut and suburban New York. The deal (expected to close by end of Q1 2024) follows an equity recapitalization of IWS led by the Private Equity Group of Ares Management and Littlejohn & Co., and will add Oak Ridge's transfer, MRF and rail-served disposal capabilities and ~27,000 customer locations to IWS's platform.

AIMCo Acquires Astatine's Stake in Howard Energy Partners

Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) has acquired Astatine Investment Partners' stake in Howard Energy Partners, increasing AIMCo's ownership to 87%. Howard Energy Partners' management and other minority investors will retain a combined 13% stake; terms were not disclosed.

Ridgemont Equity Partners Makes Growth Investment in Northstar Recycling Company

Ridgemont Equity Partners has made a growth investment in Northstar Recycling Company, LLC alongside Northstar founders Seth Goodman and Noah Goodman. Northstar is an asset-light provider of managed waste and recycling solutions serving food, consumer packaged goods and industrial clients; Ridgemont will help expand the company's service offering and scale its proprietary technology-enabled platform. Financing for the transaction was provided by Barings, Cliffwater Corporate Lending Fund and PNC Erieview Capital; financial terms were not disclosed.

Riverside / Dastex Acquires Arbeidsmiljø og Energiteknikk AS (AET)

The Riverside Company has completed the acquisition of Arbeidsmiljø og Energiteknikk AS (AET) from RA Service AS and management as an add-on to its portfolio company Dastex Reinraumzubehör (Dastex). The deal establishes a direct presence in Norway for the Dastex group, adds AET's disinfection services and training capabilities to Dastex's offering, and aims to drive commercial synergies and cross-selling across the Nordics while retaining AET's existing management.
