CHRYSO Acquires EUROMODAL in Portugal

CHRYSO has acquired EUROMODAL, a Portuguese family-owned manufacturer of construction chemicals based near Porto. The acquisition expands CHRYSO's local production and technical capabilities in Portugal, increases its product mix for concrete and cement applications, and appoints EUROMODAL CEO Francisco Araújo as General Manager of CHRYSO Portugal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Saint-Gobain has agreed to acquire Chryso, a global specialist in construction chemicals, from private equity firm Cinven. Headquartered in France, Chryso operates 35 industrial sites and five R&D centres, employs about 1,300 people and serves customers across more than 100 countries; the transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021 subject to customary approvals.

GSCM Group (Groupe Solfab Constructions Modulaires), supported by private equity firm Equistone Partners Europe, has acquired Deltamod, a French specialist in the reconditioning and reuse of modular buildings. Deltamod — founded in 2013, based in Nort-sur-Erdre and employing ~30 people with ~€8M revenue (FY21/22) — will remain supported by its founders and expand within GSCM's national modular-building platform to strengthen sustainable, circular-economy offerings.

FAMAR employs around 1,900 people across six manufacturing sites and two R&D centres in southern Europe and will use MidEuropa's backing to support further growth and capability expansion in pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D.
