AE Industrial Partners Acquires Deep Space Systems

AE Industrial Partners (AEI) acquired Deep Space Systems (DSS) and will combine it with Adcole Space to form Redwire, a new space-technology platform focused on mission-critical space systems and high-reliability electronics. The deal brings DSS’s spacecraft engineering, payloads, and ground support capabilities into the AEI-backed Redwire platform to expand scale and complementary capabilities for government and commercial space customers.

Redwire Corporation Acquires Hera Systems, Inc.

Redwire Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hera Systems, a San Jose–based spacecraft developer focused on national security space missions. The acquisition is intended to expand Redwire's spacecraft portfolio and capabilities in GEO and other orbits to support national security customers; Hera reported $15 million in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2023.

Redwire Acquires Oakman Aerospace

Redwire, a PE-backed space infrastructure company formed by AE Industrial Partners, has acquired Oakman Aerospace, a Littleton, Colorado-based provider of digital engineering, spacecraft and satellite design, and mission payload services. The acquisition expands Redwire’s digital engineering and modular open-systems capabilities to support a broader range of space missions; terms were not disclosed.

Redwire Acquires Roccor

Redwire has acquired Roccor, a Longmont, Colorado manufacturer of deployable booms, structures, antennas, thermal products and solar arrays for small satellites. Terms were not disclosed; the deal adds Roccor’s flight‑proven hardware to the Redwire platform (a company formed and backed by private equity firm AE Industrial Partners) to expand Redwire’s space infrastructure capabilities.

ArchStar Capital Completes Investment in Deployable Systems, Inc.

ArchStar Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm, has completed an investment in Deployable Systems, Inc. (DSI), joining it with ArchStar's earlier investment in Packaging Strategies Incorporated (PSI) to form a new packaging holding company. DSI and PSI design and manufacture rugged rotationally- and injection-molded protective cases serving aerospace, defense, telecommunications, medical devices and related markets; terms were not disclosed.

Redwire Acquires QinetiQ Space NV; Bain Capital and AE Industrial Partners Provide $80M Financing

Redwire Corporation completed the acquisition of Belgium-based QinetiQ Space NV, expanding its small-satellite, payload and space-instrument capabilities and increasing its exposure to European customers. Concurrently, Bain Capital and AE Industrial Partners invested $80 million in Redwire through equity-linked securities to finance the acquisition and support Redwire's growth initiatives.
