AEA Investors’ Middle Market private equity fund has closed the acquisition of SCIO Automation Holding GmbH, making AEA the new majority shareholder. Quadriga Capital’s Partnership Va has exited while Quadriga (Fund VI) has reinvested a minority position; SCIO is an industrial automation system integrator headquartered in Frankenthal, Germany with ~1,100 employees and ~€190 million of revenues in 2022.

ONDEX Automation Acquires NeoMatrix

Chicago-based ONDEX Automation has acquired NeoMatrix, a software-focused factory automation systems integrator with offices in Andover, MA; Portsmouth, NH; and Colorado Springs, CO. The acquisition expands ONDEX's capabilities into SCADA, MES and digital transformation solutions and broadens service offerings (including UL508A-certified panels and electrical installation) for its manufacturing customers across pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and food & beverage.

SCIO Automation GmbH completed the acquisition of Fabmatics GmbH (agreement announced Oct 30, 2023; deal closed Dec 27, 2023). Fabmatics, a Dresden-based specialist in material-flow and handling automation for semiconductor cleanrooms, will strengthen SCIO’s cleanroom/intralogistics capabilities and support the group’s global expansion. The transaction is an add-on to SCIO’s automation platform, which is PE-backed by Quadriga Capital.
