Seven Stories Press Acquires Two Dollar Radio

New York City-based Seven Stories Press has acquired Columbus, Ohio–based independent publisher Two Dollar Radio; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal was finalized April 1, 2025. Two Dollar Radio founders Eric Obenauf and Eliza Wood-Obenauf become minority partners while retaining ownership of the Two Dollar Radio Headquarters bookstore; Penguin Random House Distribution Services will handle U.S., Canada and global distribution beginning January 1, 2026.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) agreed to acquire Radio Systems Corporation, a Knoxville-based developer and distributor of durable pet products (brands include PetSafe, Invisible Fence, SportDOG and Kurgo). Terms were not disclosed; TSG Consumer Partners will sell its minority stake as part of the transaction, Radio Systems has more than 800 employees worldwide, and founder Randy Boyd will remain on the board. The deal received unanimous board approval and was expected to close around June 2020.

(via its Union Square & Co. imprint) has acquired London-based children’s publisher Boxer Books, adding more than 200 backlist titles and several frontlist projects to Union Square Kids and the Boxer Books imprint. Boxer Books founder and publisher David Bennett will continue to lead the imprint and report to Union Square & Co.’s Chief Creative Officer, with distribution relationships maintained in the U.S. and U.K.
