Excel Services Corporation acquired IEPSON Consulting Enterprises, Inc. (effective Aug. 1, 2023) to expand its licensing, regulatory and engineering services to the nuclear industry. Pelican Energy Partners provided equity financing to Excel and will be a passive equity holder to support Excel's growth and future acquisitions while Excel's leadership remains in place.

Pelican Energy Partners Acquires Skolnik Industries

Houston-based private equity firm Pelican Energy Partners has acquired Skolnik Industries, a Chicago-based manufacturer of customized carbon and stainless steel drums serving commercial and regulated end markets, including the nuclear industry. Skolnik will remain led by its current president, Dean Ricker; Pelican said the company's nuclear business was a key factor in the transaction as the firm continues to invest in nuclear-focused energy equipment and services.

Houston-based private equity firm Pelican Energy Partners has acquired Lancs Industries, an Albuquerque-based manufacturer of radiation containment and shielding solutions serving the DOE, commercial nuclear, U.S. Navy, national laboratories and pharmaceutical sectors. Pelican said the deal will support growth and job creation in Albuquerque as the firm looks to expand capabilities in the nuclear supply chain.

Houston-based private equity firm Pelican Energy Partners has acquired Container Technologies Industries, LLC (CTI), a Helenwood, Tennessee manufacturer of containment solutions for the nuclear industry, from a group of private (legacy) shareholders. In addition to a majority buyout, Pelican provided growth capital to expand CTI’s manufacturing capacity and has appointed Dr. Danielle Castley as President to lead capability expansion and serve DOE, DOD and commercial nuclear customers.

BHI Energy Acquires Coastal Electrical Construction

BHI Energy has acquired Coastal Electrical Construction, a Flomaton, Alabama–based provider of substation, transmission and distribution construction and maintenance services to major utilities in the Southeastern United States. The deal is the third add-on for BHI in the T&D space since its acquisition by AE Industrial Partners and is intended to expand BHI's geographic footprint and service capabilities in the Southeast; terms were not disclosed.
