3D Systems Acquires Titan Additive LLC (Titan Robotics)

3D Systems announced it will acquire Titan Additive LLC (Titan Robotics), a Colorado-based designer and fabricator of large-format, pellet-based extrusion 3D printers. The acquisition adds Titan's hybrid pellet/filament extrusion and hybrid tool-head technology to 3D Systems' polymer additive manufacturing portfolio to address larger-format industrial applications across aerospace, automotive, foundries and general manufacturing.

Siemens Acquires Atlas 3D

Siemens has acquired Atlas 3D, a Plymouth, Indiana startup that developed Sunata, a cloud-based, GPU-accelerated metal 3D printing optimization software. Atlas 3D will join Siemens Digital Industries Software to enhance Siemens' additive manufacturing software capabilities and accelerate customers' ability to produce high-quality metal parts.

PDFTron Acquires PDF3D

PDFTron Systems Inc. has acquired PDF3D, a UK-based leader in 3D PDF conversion and collaboration technologies, and integrated the PDF3D SDK into the PDFTron platform. The acquisition expands PDFTron's document-processing capabilities for developers and enterprise customers, bringing 3D PDF conversion, viewing and collaboration features to its SDK offering.

Stratasys Acquires Riven

Stratasys Ltd. has acquired Berkeley, California–based quality-assurance software start-up Riven and integrated its Warp Adaptive Modeling technology into the GrabCAD Additive Manufacturing Platform. The acquisition, which closed in October 2022, brings AI-driven inspection and automatic correction capabilities to Stratasys’ production-scale 3D printing workflow to improve part accuracy and speed inspection.

Markforged Acquires Digital Metal

Markforged (NYSE: MKFG) completed the acquisition of Digital Metal from Höganäs AB for approximately $32 million in cash, ~4.1 million shares of Markforged common stock and $1.5 million to settle intercompany balances. The deal brings Digital Metal's binder-jetting metal additive manufacturing capabilities and team (headquartered in Höganäs, Sweden) into Markforged as a subsidiary to expand high-throughput metal production offerings and integrate with Markforged's software and go-to-market engine.

SpiTrex Orthopedics Acquires Watershed Idea Foundry

SpiTrex Orthopedics has acquired Watershed Idea Foundry, a specialist in titanium additive manufacturing, and will rebrand the business as SpiTrex 3D. The acquisition expands SpiTrex's end-to-end capabilities in 3D printing for complex orthopedic implants, strengthening its contract manufacturing offering for spine, trauma and extremity markets.
