Plusgrade, a leading ancillary revenue platform for the travel industry, has acquired Points.com Inc. in an all-cash transaction valuing Points at approximately US$385 million. The deal combines two leaders in loyalty commerce and ancillary revenue to expand product capabilities and create a global ancillary revenue powerhouse serving airlines, hospitality, rail and financial services partners.

Plusgrade Acquires Oaky B.V.

Morningstar Acquires PlanPlus Global

Morningstar, Inc. has agreed to acquire PlanPlus Global, a Toronto-based financial-planning and risk-profiling software provider. The deal (terms undisclosed) is intended to expand Morningstar's financial-planning capabilities and integrate PlanPlus's FinaMetrica Profiler and ProPlanner products into Morningstar's advisor-facing offerings; the transaction was expected to close in the second quarter of 2020.

Questel has signed an agreement to acquire NovumIP, the group formed by European IP services leaders Novagraaf and PAVIS, to expand its IP management and renewals capabilities. The deal is being financed by investors including Eurazeo Capital, IK Investment Partners and RAISE Investissement, with Paragon Fund III (an affiliate of NovumIP’s majority shareholder) participating as a financial investor in Questel.

Banyan Software has acquired Trans Plus Software, a Guelph, Ontario–based provider of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet/logistics management software. Banyan said it will invest in Trans Plus’s technology and team to grow the business as part of its strategy to acquire and scale enterprise software companies.
