Smile Brands Inc., a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, completed the acquisition of Midwest Dental, a Dental Support Organization with over 230 offices headquartered in Mondovi, Wisconsin. The combination creates one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., representing approximately 650 offices and over 8,000 employees across 30 states; terms were not disclosed.

Henry Schein Acquires Condor Dental

Henry Schein, Inc. has completed the acquisition of Condor Dental Research Company SA, a Swiss dental distributor based in Vouvry. Henry Schein purchased 100% of Condor Dental from MCCB II Holding (owned by Christèle Herreman) to expand its Swiss and European dental distribution business; Condor Dental reported approximately $18 million in 2021 sales and will join Henry Schein’s International Distribution Group.

Wolter Inc. Acquires Midway Industrial Equipment

Wolter Inc., a Brookfield, Wisconsin-based material handling solutions provider, has acquired Midway Industrial Equipment, a full-service forklift and material handling dealer with locations in Sugar Grove and University Park, Illinois. The acquisition expands Wolter's product and service capabilities — including rentals, parts, and maintenance — and strengthens its presence in the Midwest.

Henry Schein Acquires Majority Interest in Shield Healthcare

Henry Schein completed the acquisition of a majority interest in Shield Healthcare, a Valencia, California-based supplier of homecare medical products that had approximately $180 million in 2022 net sales. The current owners, including management, will retain a minority stake; financial terms were not disclosed and Henry Schein expects the deal to be neutral to 2023 non-GAAP EPS and accretive thereafter.

Henry Schein acquired a 70% ownership stake in eAssist Dental Solutions, a fast-growing virtual dental billing and revenue cycle management provider headquartered in American Fork, Utah. eAssist — founded in 2011 and with more than 1,200 employees serving over 2,000 practices — had approximately $31 million in sales in 2020; financial terms were not disclosed and Dr. James Anderson will remain CEO.

iSmile Dental Products Acquires Dental Savings International

iSmile Dental Products, a Sacramento-based dental distributor, has acquired Dental Savings International (DSI), a Union City, New Jersey–based full-line dental supplies distributor and e-commerce platform. The deal combines DSI's East Coast distribution capabilities with iSmile's West Coast operations to create a bicoastal platform that expands product selection and shortens delivery times for customers.
