Misha's Inc. Acquires Vertage

Misha's Inc., a Los Angeles–based plant-based foods company, has acquired Vertage, a New York–based dairy-free cheese maker, to expand Misha's product line into shredded and sliced cheeses and scale production. The transaction is supported by investors including QVT Financial, Composite Capital Partners, Gaingels, and Fresh Del Monte, the latter providing access to its production and inland logistics capabilities.

Morinaga Nutritional Foods Acquires Turtle Island Foods (Tofurky & Moocho)

Morinaga Nutritional Foods, a U.S. subsidiary of Morinaga Milk Group, acquired Turtle Island Foods Holdings, Inc. — the owner of the Tofurky and Moocho brands — making Turtle Island a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition aims to expand Morinaga's plant-based foods (PBF) business in North America, strengthen the integrated supply chain and manufacturing capabilities, and grow the Tofurky and Moocho brands across retail and foodservice channels.

Danone Acquires Earth Island (Follow Your Heart)

TPG and Northstar Acquire 80% of Japfa's Southeast Asia Dairy Business (Greenfields)

TPG and Northstar Group have agreed to acquire an 80% stake in Japfa Ltd's Southeast Asia branded dairy business (Greenfields) for US$236 million, with Japfa retaining a 20% interest. The strategic partnership gives the investors funding and senior management expertise to accelerate growth of the vertically integrated dairy business across Southeast Asia while Japfa focuses on its China dairy operations and other core businesses.

Meadow Acquires Naked Foods Limited

Borgman Capital Acquires Dairyfood USA as Add-on to Gilman Cheese

Milwaukee private equity firm Borgman Capital completed the add-on acquisition of Dairyfood USA, a specialty extended shelf-life cheese processor headquartered in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. The acquisition will be integrated with Borgman’s platform company Gilman Cheese Corporation to expand product mix, increase production capacity and realize synergies across retail, foodservice and transportation customers.
