Morinaga Nutritional Foods, a U.S. subsidiary of Morinaga Milk Group, acquired Turtle Island Foods Holdings, Inc. — the owner of the Tofurky and Moocho brands — making Turtle Island a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition aims to expand Morinaga's plant-based foods (PBF) business in North America, strengthen the integrated supply chain and manufacturing capabilities, and grow the Tofurky and Moocho brands across retail and foodservice channels.

Senior debt financing for the transaction was provided by Wintrust Bank; terms were not disclosed.
