Biocare Medical, a GHO Capital-backed provider of automated IHC and FISH instrumentation and reagents, has acquired Empire Genomics, a designer and manufacturer of FISH/CISH probes and molecular biomarkers. The deal expands Biocare's molecular portfolio (bringing over one million biomarkers) and adds rapid biomarker development capabilities to accelerate cancer research and diagnostics.

Bionano Genomics Acquires BioDiscovery

Bionano Genomics agreed to acquire BioDiscovery, a provider of NxClinical genomics analysis software, in a deal worth up to $100 million in cash and equity. The acquisition will integrate BioDiscovery's platform-agnostic analysis and reporting tools with Bionano's optical genome mapping technology to accelerate variant analysis and broaden Bionano's market reach; BioDiscovery founder Soheil Shams will join Bionano as Chief Informatics Officer.

Envista Acquires Osteogenics Biomedical Business

Envista Holdings Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Osteogenics Biomedical, Allotech LLC and OBI Biologics (collectively “Osteogenics”), a developer of regenerative dental bone grafting products sold primarily under the Cytoplast brand. The deal, subject to customary regulatory approvals and expected to close in the third quarter, expands Envista’s capabilities in regenerative solutions for periodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and implant dentistry; the transaction is not subject to a financing condition or shareholder vote.

Gen4 Dental Partners Acquires Bay Area Dental

Geistlich Pharma North America Acquires Lynch Biologics

Mesa Laboratories Acquires Agena Bioscience

Mesa Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:MLAB) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Agena Bioscience, Inc. for $300 million in cash. Agena, a San Diego–based molecular diagnostics and genomics tools company, is expected to add roughly $63–67 million of revenue (about 65% recurring) in the first 12 months and will form Mesa’s new Clinical Genomics Division.
