Mullen Group Acquires ContainerWorld Forwarding Services

Mullen Group Ltd. has acquired Richmond, British Columbia-based ContainerWorld Forwarding Services Inc., adding a leading beverage-alcohol-focused logistics provider to its network. ContainerWorld will operate as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary, with founder Dennis Chrismas remaining in his role; the business is expected to generate roughly CAD 150 million in annualized revenue and expand Mullen's reach in Western Canada.

Konecranes Acquires Peinemann Port Services and Peinemann Container Handling

Finnish material-handling manufacturer Konecranes has acquired two subsidiaries of the Peinemann group — Peinemann Port Services and Peinemann Container Handling — expanding its service and sales presence in the Netherlands, particularly in the Port of Rotterdam. The deal brings roughly 100 employees into Konecranes, will not affect distribution arrangements outside the Netherlands, and supports Konecranes' plans to broaden services and accelerate electrification of lift trucks in a key market.

Fracht AG Acquires Quality Freight Group (Ireland)

Switzerland-headquartered Fracht AG has agreed to acquire the entire shareholding of Dublin-headquartered Quality Freight Group, including Quality Freight Ltd and its subsidiary units (Renewable Logistics, Quality Freight Belfast, Quality Port Logistics, Quality Freight Netherlands and Quality Freight Inland Container Depots). The deal brings Fracht expanded project-cargo, bulk-tank/container logistics and Irish/Benelux warehousing and depot capabilities and integrates Quality Freight’s local teams and facilities into Fracht’s global network.

Descartes Systems Group Acquires Kontainers

Descartes Systems Group acquired Cracking Logistics Limited (dba Kontainers), a UK-based provider of client-facing digital freight execution platforms. The consideration is up to $12.0 million (US$6.0 million up-front plus up to US$6.0 million in performance-based earnouts). Descartes will integrate Kontainers' digital freight platform with its Global Logistics Network to expand customer-facing and API-enabled capabilities for logistics services providers.

DP World (DP World Logistics FZE) Acquires Imperial Logistics Limited

DP World, through DP World Logistics FZE, has completed its acquisition of 100% of Imperial Logistics Limited after satisfying all conditions precedent; the transaction became unconditional and was implemented on 14 March 2022 with Imperial to be delisted from the JSE. The deal expands DP World's logistics and market-access capabilities across Africa by combining DP World's port infrastructure and global network with Imperial's African footprint, end-to-end logistics services and customer base.

Penske Truck Leasing Acquires Kris-Way Truck Leasing, Inc.

Penske Truck Leasing has reached an agreement to acquire Kris-Way Truck Leasing, Inc., a New England-based transportation services company offering truck leasing, rental, maintenance and dedicated contract carriage. The deal will add Kris-Way's approximately 150 associates, over 900 vehicles and seven locations across Maine and New Hampshire to Penske's network; financial terms were not disclosed and closing was expected in Q2 2023 subject to customary approvals.
