Kemin Industries Acquires Archangel Inc.

Kemin Industries has acquired Archangel Inc., a specialist in antimicrobial solutions for fermentative biofuel production, adding Archangel's NOVA EZL and NOVA EZP products and four patent applications to Kemin's Bio Solutions portfolio. Archangel founder Allen Ziegler will join Kemin as a Principal Sales Manager, and the deal strengthens Kemin's ability to serve the U.S. biofuel industry with expanded bacterial-control capabilities.

Kerry Group Acquires c-LEcta GmbH from SHS

Kerry Group has acquired Leipzig-based enzyme engineering company c-LEcta GmbH from growth investor SHS. c-LEcta, a developer and supplier of enzyme and biotech products for regulated food, pharmaceutical and chemical markets with over one hundred employees, will be used by Kerry to expand its biotechnology capabilities and international presence in bio-actives for food and pharma.

Kemin Industries Acquires Bio-Cide International

The deal adds Bio-Cide's OXINE, PRO-OXINE, KEEPER and PURITE technologies to Kemin's portfolio to strengthen its food safety, animal nutrition/health and human health offerings.

Kerry Group to Acquire Lactase Enzyme Business from Chr. Hansen and Novozymes

Kerry Group PLC has agreed to acquire part of the global lactase enzyme business carved out from Chr. Hansen Holding A/S and Novozymes A/S for a total consideration of €150 million (subject to closing adjustments). The deal includes certain trade and assets of Chr. Hansen's global lactase business and 100% of Nuocheng Trillion Food (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.; the lactase business generated about €40 million in revenue in 2022 and the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2024 subject to European Commission approval.

The acquisition adds vaccine R&D, biological manufacturing and CRO/CDMO/CMO capabilities and more than 50 tenured scientists to Kemin's Kemin Biologics portfolio to expand its animal vaccine offerings.
