ADT Inc. acquired LifeShield, a pioneer in DIY wireless home security, in a transaction valued at approximately $25 million. The purchase expands ADT’s product and service capabilities into the DIY/smart-home security segment and brings LifeShield’s technology and team into ADT’s broader residential security and automation business.

GTCR Acquires ADT Commercial (rebranded as Everon)

GTCR has completed the acquisition of ADT Inc.'s commercial security, fire and life safety business, which will operate as a standalone company rebranded as Everon. GTCR is partnering with former Protection1 executives Dan Bresingham (to serve as CEO) and Tim Whall (board director) and other ADT Commercial leadership to grow the business through strategic M&A and technology investment. ADT Inc. acted as the seller in the divestiture.

Sciens Building Solutions Acquires Alarmtechs

Sciens Building Solutions has acquired Katy, Texas-based Alarmtechs, a fire and life safety installation, servicing and monitoring company, to expand Sciens' presence in the Texas market. Sciens, a San Francisco-based fire and life safety platform backed by The Carlyle Group, will integrate Alarmtechs' capabilities in fire alarm, security integration and sprinkler services into its nationwide service platform.

ADT Acquires Origin AI for $170 Million

ADT has acquired Origin AI for $170 million in cash to integrate Origin's AI sensing platform and related IP into ADT's smart home and security offerings. The deal brings Origin's sensorless ambient-intelligence technology and more than 200 patents to ADT to enhance presence detection, reduce false alarms, and enable new aging-in-place and occupancy-based automation use cases.

John Crane Acquires Industrial Division of Advanced Diamond Technologies

John Crane acquired the Industrial Division of Advanced Diamond Technologies (ADT), based in Romeoville, Illinois, bringing ADT's ultrananocrystalline diamond (UNCD) thin-film technology into John Crane's product portfolio. The acquisition is intended to enhance John Crane's mechanical-seal performance in harsh applications by integrating ADT's proprietary diamond-facing processes and materials.

Sentry Safety Solutions Acquires Texas Commercial Fire & Safety

The transaction was financed by Mitchell Capital and Evolution Strategy Partners and will combine Sentry’s digital safety tools with TCFS’s local fire- and safety-service capabilities while TCFS continues to operate locally.
