Newport Healthcare has completed the acquisition of Minnesota-based PrairieCare to expand access to mental health treatment for youth and adults and to strengthen Newport's presence in Minnesota and the Midwest. PrairieCare operates nine locations across Minnesota offering inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, IOPs, PHPs, and residential care.

Onex Partners V Makes Majority Investment in Newport Healthcare

Onex Partners V, the private equity investment arm of Onex, has agreed to acquire a majority stake (approximately 60%) in Newport Healthcare, a U.S. provider of evidence-based residential and outpatient treatment programs for teens and young adults with mental-health issues. The investment, completed in July 2021 after announcing the agreement in June 2021, will partner with Newport's management to expand access to the company's behavioral-health services nationwide; terms were not disclosed.

The deal combines the two companies’ e-procurement platforms to expand vendor networks, cross-sell opportunities, and technology capabilities across post-acute care and senior living customers; terms were not disclosed.
