AIS, a GCP-backed engineering and manufacturing group, has acquired CRP Subsea, a Skelmersdale-based specialist in polymer and syntactic foam buoyancy and protection products. The deal is an add-on to AIS’s platform that expands its subsea and offshore-wind capabilities and increases scale across the offshore energy and oil & gas markets.

ITT Inc. Acquires Micro-Mode Products

ITT Inc. acquired privately held Micro-Mode Products, a designer and manufacturer of high-bandwidth RF and hermetic connectors for defense and space applications, for approximately $80 million (closed May 2, 2023). The acquisition expands ITT's North America connectors platform within its Connect & Control Technologies segment, adding Micro-Mode's engineering capabilities, sole-source positions on U.S. defense programs, and a single manufacturing site near San Diego with ~170 employees and ~$26 million in 2022 revenue.

Charger Investment Partners Acquires Advanced Composite Products and Technology, Inc.

Charger Investment Partners acquired a majority stake in Advanced Composite Products and Technology, Inc. (ACPT), a Huntington Beach, California-based manufacturer of engineered composite structures. Charger will partner with ACPT's management and the Leslie family to accelerate growth and expand ACPT's leadership across defense, aerospace, automotive and marine end markets; financial terms were not disclosed.

Tiderock Companies Acquires GRP Alliance (to be Tiderock Composites)

Tiderock Companies (OTC PINK: TDRK) completed the acquisition of GRP Alliance Limited — a UK company formed to acquire the assets of MTAG Composites — and will rebrand it as Tiderock Composites Limited. The Coningsby, Lincolnshire facility will be retained and continue producing ISO 9001–accredited phenolic, epoxy and polyester glass- and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic moldings for aerospace, marine, rail and entertainment markets.

KPS Capital Partners Acquires Crane Composites

KPS Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of Crane Composites, a U.S.-based manufacturer of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite panels. Crane Composites operates multiple manufacturing sites (including Channahon, Illinois) and employs several hundred people; KPS will own and manage the business through its affiliated management entities.

TRP Capital Acquires Diversified Technologies International (DTI)

TRP Capital partnered with DTI co-founders Chris Wiegel and Kurt Saldana to acquire Diversified Technologies International (DTI) as a new platform investment for TRP V. DTI is an asset-light provider of supply chain and program management for tooling design and manufacturing serving automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers; TRP expects to add value via customer growth and infrastructure support.
