Etsy, Inc. agreed to acquire Depop, a London‑headquartered fashion resale marketplace, for $1.625 billion in a cash‑heavy deal. Depop will operate as a standalone, community‑led marketplace under Etsy’s ‘house of brands,’ expanding Etsy’s presence in the fast‑growing Gen Z resale apparel market.

The assets include the website, domains, trademarks, customer database and social accounts; Beyond says the acquisition strengthens its off-price retail positioning and the new Zulily site is expected to be functional by the end of Q2.
