Southeast Mechanical (SEM), a Winston-Salem-based HVAC, plumbing and electrical platform, has acquired Clearwater, Florida-based Climate Design Home Services, marking SEM's first expansion into Florida. The acquisition is an add-on to SEM’s platform (which is partnered with Palladin Consumer Retail Partners) and expands SEM’s residential and commercial HVAC and home-services footprint across the Tampa Bay region.

Modine Acquires Scott Springfield Manufacturing

Modine (NYSE: MOD) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Scott Springfield Manufacturing, a Calgary-based manufacturer of air handling units, for an enterprise value of approximately $190 million CAD (consideration paid in Canadian dollars). The acquisition — expected to close in Q1 2024 and financed with cash and debt — adds AHU manufacturing capabilities and a blue-chip customer base serving hyperscale and colocation data centers, healthcare, telecommunications and aerospace to Modine's HVAC and indoor air quality portfolio.

PremiStar Acquires Conditioned Air Design

Modine Acquires Napps Technology

Modine (NYSE: MOD) has acquired Napps Technology, a manufacturer of air- and water-cooled chillers, condensing units and heat pumps that serve the K-12 school market and similar applications. The acquisition expands Modine’s indoor air quality and small-tonnage chiller product portfolio, with manufacturing to continue in Longview, Texas, and Napps president Sam Neale joining Modine; Modine expects $6–8 million in revenue this year from the acquisition and forecasts that to double within two years.

Computer Design & Integration LLC (CDI), a PE-backed IT infrastructure and managed services provider, has acquired Plan B Technologies, Inc., an Annapolis-based IT solutions and professional services firm. Backed by One Equity Partners, the acquisition is an add-on to CDI's growth strategy to expand service capabilities (notably virtualization and cloud/backup solutions) and extend sales reach across the eastern U.S.; financial terms were not disclosed.
