Modine Acquires Napps Technology

Modine (NYSE: MOD) has acquired Napps Technology, a manufacturer of air- and water-cooled chillers, condensing units and heat pumps that serve the K-12 school market and similar applications. The acquisition expands Modine’s indoor air quality and small-tonnage chiller product portfolio, with manufacturing to continue in Longview, Texas, and Napps president Sam Neale joining Modine; Modine expects $6–8 million in revenue this year from the acquisition and forecasts that to double within two years.

Modine Acquires Climate by Design International

Modine (NYSE: MOD) has acquired Climate by Design International (CDI), a Minnesota-based manufacturer of desiccant dehumidifiers and critical process air handlers. The acquisition expands Modine's Commercial IAQ capabilities, adding desiccant-based humidity control technology and additional U.S. manufacturing capacity to serve end markets such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, cold storage, and battery manufacturing.

Regent Acquires Three Modine Automotive Businesses in Germany

Modine has signed a definitive agreement to sell three of its German automotive businesses (located in Neuenkirchen, Pliezhausen and Wackersdorf) to affiliates of Regent, L.P. The businesses manufacture exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers, radiators and charge air cooler modules and generated combined FY2023 revenue of $80–$90 million; the sale is part of Modine's strategy to focus on higher-margin technologies and is expected to close pending regulatory approval.

SPX Technologies Acquires Thermolec

SPX Technologies has completed the acquisition of Montréal-based Thermolec Ltd. for CA$195 million (approximately US$140 million). Thermolec, a manufacturer of custom electric duct heating and related HVAC solutions with nearly 200 employees and about US$35 million in annual revenue, will join SPX's HVAC Electric Heat business to expand product capabilities and grow sales in the U.S. and Canada.

SPX Technologies Acquires Ingénia Technologies

SPX Technologies announced the acquisition of Ingénia Technologies for approximately CA$405 million (about US$300 million) in cash, adding a Mirabel, Quebec–based designer and manufacturer of custom air handling units to its Cooling platform. Ingénia, expected to generate roughly US$100 million of annualized revenue in 2024, expands SPX's Engineered Air Movement capabilities and is accretive to the company's HVAC segment growth and margin profile.

SPX Technologies Acquires ASPEQ Heating Group from Industrial Growth Partners for $418M

SPX Technologies (NYSE: SPXC) acquired ASPEQ Heating Group, a St. Louis-based provider of custom electric heating and thermal management products, for approximately $418 million. The transaction closed in June 2023 and expands SPX's HVAC heating portfolio by adding ASPEQ's brands and capabilities; the seller was private equity firm Industrial Growth Partners.
