Valeo Foods Group Acquires Freddi Dolciaria S.p.A

Valeo Foods Group has acquired Italian sweet bakery Freddi Dolciaria S.p.A, a Castiglione delle Stiviere-based producer of pre-packaged sponge cakes with annual revenue approaching €20 million and 48 employees. The purchase strengthens Valeo's packaged wafers, cakes and biscuits portfolio (complementing Balconi), expands manufacturing and logistical capacity, and accelerates growth across South-West Europe.

Valeo is a pan‑European ambient food company headquartered in Dublin with a portfolio including Jacobs, Kettle and Rowse, generating roughly €1.1 billion in annual net sales and employing over 4,000 people; Bain said it will seek to accelerate growth organically and via acquisitions. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and the financial terms were not disclosed.
