ExxonMobil Chemical Company Acquires Materia, Inc.

ExxonMobil Chemical Company has acquired Materia, Inc., a Pasadena-based developer of high-performance structural polymers and Nobel Prize‑winning ROMP catalyst technology. The acquisition gives ExxonMobil ownership of Materia’s IP, R&D center in Pasadena and manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Texas, enabling commercial-scale production of Materia’s Proxima polymers for markets including wind energy, electric vehicles and sustainable construction.
