Ryder System Acquires Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System

Ryder System, Inc. has acquired all outstanding equity of Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System, a Woodridge, Illinois–based 3PL that operates 17 multi-client and dedicated warehouses totaling about seven million square feet and a company-owned truck fleet. The acquisition, completed Nov. 1, 2021, expands Ryder's multi-client warehousing capability in the Chicago distribution hub and is expected to add roughly $135 million of annual revenue in 2022.

DHL Supply Chain Acquires IDS Fulfillment

DHL Supply Chain, a unit of Deutsche Post, has acquired Indiana-based IDS Fulfillment to expand its U.S. warehousing and fulfillment network for small and midsize e-commerce customers. The deal (terms undisclosed) brings roughly 1.3 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space across three states and was agreed before recent tariff changes.

PLS Logistics Services, a technology-driven third-party logistics provider based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, has acquired D&L Transport, a freight brokerage headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. D&L will operate as an independent subsidiary with Brian DeFrain remaining president, and PLS expects the transaction to increase its annual revenue run rate to $950 million (with a projected ~$1.2 billion in 2022).
