Ryder System Acquires Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System

Ryder System, Inc. has acquired all outstanding equity of Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System, a Woodridge, Illinois–based 3PL that operates 17 multi-client and dedicated warehouses totaling about seven million square feet and a company-owned truck fleet. The acquisition, completed Nov. 1, 2021, expands Ryder's multi-client warehousing capability in the Chicago distribution hub and is expected to add roughly $135 million of annual revenue in 2022.

Ryder System, Inc. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding equity of IFS Holdings, LLC (Impact Fulfillment Services), adding contract packaging, contract manufacturing and warehousing capabilities across 15 U.S. operations. The deal is expected to add about $250 million of annual revenue, retain roughly 1,000 IFS employees, and close in early November 2023 subject to customary approvals.

Capital, integrating Cardinal’s dedicated contract carriage, freight brokerage and last-mile capabilities to strengthen Ryder’s dedicated transportation and supply chain services. Cardinal, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Concord, North Carolina, operates ~200 locations with a fleet of 2,900 power units and more than 3,400 drivers; Ryder expects synergies and accretion following integration.

Ryder System, Inc. has acquired Truck Service Depot, an Atlanta-based mobile maintenance provider for commercial trucks and trailers, expanding its Torque by Ryder retail mobile maintenance footprint in Georgia and the broader Southeast. The deal, which closed January 5, 2026, adds more than 20 technicians and two physical sites (Atlanta and Savannah) to Ryder's network; founder Scott Marshall will support the transition and financial terms were not disclosed.
