Commercial Bakeries Corp., a portfolio company of Graham Partners, has acquired Imagine Baking, Inc., a Sandusky, Ohio-based maker of specialty crackers, cookies, biscuits and brittle focused on gluten-free, organic and better‑for‑you products. The purchase expands Commercial Bakeries' private‑label and co‑manufacturing capabilities in North America by adding Imagine Baking's 114,000+ sq. ft. production facility, segregated lines and R&D lab.

The transaction is an add-on to Commercial Bakeries’ platform, intended to expand manufacturing capacity and capabilities in the North American private-label cookie market.

Bain Capital Credit and EBITDA Investments Acquire Bread Holdings (GAIL's Bakery & The Bread Factory)

Bain Capital Credit, in partnership with EBITDA Investments (backed by Henry McGovern and Steven K. Winegar), has acquired Bread Holdings Ltd, the parent of GAIL's Bakery and The Bread Factory, from Risk Capital Partners for a reported consideration of over £200 million. Management, including CEO Tom Molnar, remain in place and chairman Luke Johnson retains a stake and board seat; part of the proceeds will be distributed to nearly 2,000 employees as the buyer supports the group's next phase of growth and expansion.

Biscuit International Acquires Continental Bakeries

Biscuit International, a Platinum Equity-backed European private‑label biscuit manufacturer, has agreed to acquire Continental Bakeries from its majority shareholder Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The deal brings Continental’s 13 production facilities and more than 2,300 employees into Biscuit International, strengthening the combined group's product portfolio and pan‑European footprint; completion was anticipated in H1 2022 subject to customary approvals.

Murry's (Encore Consumer Capital) Acquires Bake Crafters

Murry's Inc., a portfolio company of Encore Consumer Capital, has acquired Bake Crafters Food Company, a McDonald, Tennessee-based manufacturer and distributor of baked goods that sells primarily into K-12 foodservice and other institutional channels. The transaction closed on April 1, 2022; Encore said the deal is a strategic add-on to expand Murry's capabilities and presence in the K‑12 and institutional foodservice market, and Murry's also hired Jeff Ahlers as CEO to support integration and growth.
