The transaction is an add-on to Commercial Bakeries’ platform, intended to expand manufacturing capacity and capabilities in the North American private-label cookie market.

Biscuit International Acquires Continental Bakeries

Biscuit International, a Platinum Equity-backed European private‑label biscuit manufacturer, has agreed to acquire Continental Bakeries from its majority shareholder Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The deal brings Continental’s 13 production facilities and more than 2,300 employees into Biscuit International, strengthening the combined group's product portfolio and pan‑European footprint; completion was anticipated in H1 2022 subject to customary approvals.

Rise Baking Company, a platform backed by Olympus Partners, has acquired Brill Inc., a supplier of cakes, cookies, muffins, icings, glazes and toppings serving retail bakeries and foodservice operators across the United States. The deal is an add-on to Rise’s platform and expands its product portfolio and nationwide distribution footprint; the combined business will operate more than 15 facilities across North America. Baker & Baker Group is reported as the selling parent of Brill.

Murry's (Encore Consumer Capital) Acquires Bake Crafters

Murry's Inc., a portfolio company of Encore Consumer Capital, has acquired Bake Crafters Food Company, a McDonald, Tennessee-based manufacturer and distributor of baked goods that sells primarily into K-12 foodservice and other institutional channels. The transaction closed on April 1, 2022; Encore said the deal is a strategic add-on to expand Murry's capabilities and presence in the K‑12 and institutional foodservice market, and Murry's also hired Jeff Ahlers as CEO to support integration and growth.

HC Private Investments Forms Artisan Bakery Through Acquisitions of Snackwerks and Specialty Bakers

HC Private Investments, a Chicago-based family office, has acquired Snackwerks (Battle Creek, MI) and Specialty Bakers (Marysville, PA) to form Artisan Bakery, a national premium baked-goods and co-manufacturing platform. The deal brings together established in-store bakery distribution and advanced co-manufacturing/R&D capabilities to accelerate product innovation, packaging expansion and scale across retail and co-manufacturing channels; terms were not disclosed.
