Koppers Acquires Brown Wood Preserving for Approximately $100M

Koppers Holdings, through its subsidiary Koppers Utility and Industrial Products Inc., signed an agreement to acquire substantially all assets of Brown Wood Preserving Company, Inc. for about $100 million in cash. Brown Wood, a Louisville, Kentucky-based manufacturer of pressure-treated utility poles with ~100 employees serving the Midwest and Southeast U.S., will be integrated into Koppers' Utility and Industrial Products business to expand capabilities and geographic reach.

Sherwin-Williams Acquires Gross & Perthun GmbH

The Sherwin-Williams Company announced an agreement to acquire Gross & Perthun GmbH, a Mannheim, Germany–based developer, manufacturer and distributor of industrial coatings primarily serving the heavy equipment and transportation industries. Gross & Perthun has about 100 employees and roughly $50 million in annual sales; the business will become part of Sherwin-Williams' Performance Coatings Group and the transaction was expected to close by the end of Q3 2022.

Kamps, Inc. Acquires John Rock, Inc.

CBRE Investment Management Acquires Gateway Fiber from Crosstimbers Capital Group

A fund sponsored by CBRE Investment Management has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Gateway Fiber, a Wright City, Missouri-based fiber-to-the-home provider, from Crosstimbers Capital Group. CBRE IM said the acquisition will expand its private infrastructure portfolio and enable integration with its middle-mile portfolio company WANRack to accelerate broadband deployment in underserved communities; the deal is expected to close in February 2023 pending regulatory approvals.

Miles Ahead Brands Acquires CKJ Transport

Miles Ahead Brands, a family of aggregate distribution companies based in Tampa, has acquired CKJ Transport, a family-owned aggregate hauling company headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The acquisition expands Miles Ahead Brands' presence in the Texas market and integrates CKJ's specialized hauling capabilities into its connected network for construction materials distribution.
