The move consolidates Alleghany Capital’s machine tool and consumable cutting tool businesses under a single platform to share resources and expand capabilities and end-market reach in aerospace, defense, and medical sectors.

The deal strengthens Precision's North Texas platform and expands its precision machining and tooling capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Dallas-based private equity firms CIC Partners and Juniper Capital Management partnered to form Precision Aerospace Holdings and completed a recapitalization that unites Applegate EDM and Icon Machine Co. under the new platform to serve aerospace, space and defense OEMs. The combined platform, led by CEO Pete Stegmaier, will pursue organic and acquisitive growth to expand precision machining and EDM capabilities for sophisticated aerospace and defense programs.
