Loblaw / Shoppers Drug Mart Acquires Lifemark Health Group

Shoppers Drug Mart, a wholly owned subsidiary of Loblaw Companies Limited, agreed to acquire Lifemark Health Group from Audax Private Equity for C$845 million. Lifemark, a leading Canadian outpatient physiotherapy and rehabilitation provider with over 300 clinics and more than 5,000 employees, will expand Shoppers' healthcare services and create a broader continuum of care across Loblaw's retail and digital health network.

The deal (court-approved plan of arrangement) offers LifeWorks shareholders cash, share, or combination consideration and is intended to create a global leader in employer-focused digital and in-person health, wellbeing and mental-health services by combining TELUS Health and LifeWorks.
