Build A Rocket Boy, the Edinburgh-based independent game developer led by Leslie Benzies, has acquired Cambridge-based PlayFusion. The deal brings PlayFusion's team and IP into Build A Rocket Boy to accelerate development of AAA games, user-generated-content tools (ARCADIA), and the EVERYWHERE entertainment platform.

Nazara Technologies Acquires Fusebox Games for $27.2M

Nazara Technologies has acquired UK-based mobile game studio Fusebox Games for $27.2 million in an all-cash deal. The acquisition expands Nazara's global IP-led gaming strategy by adding Fusebox's interactive narrative titles (including Love Island: The Game) and UK development capability to Nazara's India-centered operations.

Genstar-backed Stack Sports Acquires PlayMetrics

Genstar Capital has backed a combination of PlayMetrics and Stack Sports, making Genstar the majority owner of the combined sports-technology business. As part of the transaction Genstar acquired PlayMetrics from Blue Star Innovation Partners and PSG and will fold it into Stack Sports (headquartered in Dallas) to create a larger SaaS platform for clubs, leagues, tournaments, and governing bodies.

Savvy Games Group Acquires Scopely for $4.9 Billion

Savvy Games Group, a Saudi Arabia–based games and esports company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has agreed to acquire mobile games developer and publisher Scopely for $4.9 billion. The acquisition will add Scopely’s development capabilities, publishing infrastructure and live-services expertise to Savvy’s portfolio to accelerate growth and expand its global games footprint; the deal is subject to regulatory approval.
