The Sterling Group and Capitol Meridian Partners Acquire PrimeFlight Aviation Services from Carlyle

The Sterling Group and Capitol Meridian Partners have agreed to acquire PrimeFlight Aviation Services from funds managed by Carlyle in a 50/50 partnership; financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close by Q3 2023. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, PrimeFlight operates roughly 235 stations globally and employs about 12,000 people, providing ground handling, fueling, deicing, GSE maintenance and other airport services to airlines, airports and cargo operators.

GAT, a Peachtree City, Georgia-based provider of ground handling, cargo handling and catering (Sky Café) services with ~6,000 employees across nearly 70 North American airports, will expand PrimeFlight's footprint and capabilities in airline ground services and catering.

Alliance Ground International Acquires Maestro International Cargo

Alliance Ground International (AGI) has acquired MIC Cargo (Maestro), a Chicago-based air cargo and ground handling operator at Chicago O'Hare (ORD). The deal expands AGI's warehouse footprint and aircraft parking capacity at ORD — including Maestro's WHO‑GDP certified cold‑chain pharmaceutical capabilities — as AGI grows its North American air cargo and below‑the‑wing services.

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance Acquires Camin Cargo Control Holdings

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Camin Cargo Control Holdings, a global provider of testing, inspection and certification (TIC) and fuel treatment services, from Metalmark Capital. Camin Cargo, headquartered in Pasadena, Texas, operates 64 laboratory and inspection branches across 19 countries; Macquarie plans to accelerate growth organically and via acquisitions and to expand capabilities in renewable fuels.
