HKW, a middle-market private equity firm, has acquired CIS Secure Computing from Acorn Growth Companies. The Riverside Company’s Riverside Strategic Capital Fund partnered with HKW as a minority investor to support CIS’s product and software expansion and pursue strategic add-on acquisitions; CIS is headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia and provides secure endpoint communications solutions to government and security-conscious customers.

Intrepid Solutions Acquires Darkblade Systems

Systems Planning & Analysis (SPA), a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, has acquired Intrepid, a Huntsville, Alabama-based engineering firm with prime positions in missiles and space, enterprise modernization, and aviation and mission support. The add-on strengthens SPA's capabilities in integrated battle management and enterprise modernization, broadening its presence with the U.S. Army and enhancing mission support across missile, space and aviation domains.

Bluestone Investment Partners completed an investment in Intrepid Solutions and Services, a Sterling, Virginia-based provider of enterprise IT, data analytics, and operational training to the U.S. Intelligence Community. The transaction included a co-investment from Route 2 Capital Partners (an SBIC), and Bluestone said the capital will support Intrepid’s organic growth and M&A-led expansion as a platform in the government services market.

BWM founder Jacqueline Bahe will join Intrepid as BWM President to continue running the business, which expands Intrepid's cyber and intelligence analytic capabilities and customer relationships.
