San Francisco Equity Partners (SFEP), a consumer-focused private equity firm, has acquired Smith & Vandiver Corporation (doing business as SV Labs), a Watsonville, California-based contract manufacturer of natural beauty and personal care products. SFEP said it will support SV Labs' growth and operational scaling; terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal expands SV Labs' formulation and manufacturing capabilities and adds a Canadian facility to its network; Sigan shareholders retained a meaningful ownership stake in the combined business.

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. has agreed to acquire all shares of Dermaceutical Laboratories, LLC (D-LAB), a Bergen County, New Jersey-based cosmetics ODM and contract manufacturer. Mitsui will position D-LAB as the core beauty & personal care (BPC) business in the Americas, leveraging Japanese technologies and Mitsui's procurement and global network to expand capabilities and scale in the U.S. market.

FoodChain ID Acquires Diversified Laboratories

The deal expands FoodChain ID’s contaminants testing capabilities — adding Diversified’s USDA-accredited and ISO 17025-certified pesticide, PCB, antibiotic and mycotoxin testing to its food safety, quality and sustainability platform.
