Petroleum Transport Co. Inc. has acquired the fuels transportation business Pope Transport from E.J. Pope & Son. Pope Transport operates a fleet of nearly 50 tractors and 90 trailers as a common carrier serving Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia; Matrix Capital Markets Group advised on the sale, which marks the Pope family’s full exit from the fuels industry.

The add-on expands Offen’s footprint in the Ozark region (Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma) and brings Petromark owners Stephen Lair and Steve Turner into transitional roles, with Steve Turner serving as an advisor.

TravelCenters of America Acquires Two Virginia Travel Centers for $45M

TravelCenters of America Inc. (TA) completed the acquisition of two Interstate 81 travel center locations — Petro Raphine and TA Lexington — for $45 million. The sites, franchised since 2011, are expected to generate approximately $9.0 million of site-level EBITDA in 2023, and Petro Raphine is undergoing renovations to expand retail space and add 170 truck parking spaces (bringing it to nearly 900 spaces).
