Flagship Food Group (CREO) Acquires Majority Stake in Tortilla King

Denver-based Flagship Food Group, majority owned by CREO Capital Partners, has acquired a majority stake in Tortilla King, a Moundridge, Kansas-based maker of tortillas and tortilla chips. Management remains in place with co-founder Juan Guardiola staying on as President and a shareholder; terms were not disclosed and the deal closed in mid-July 2021.

Guenther & Son (CHG), a Pritzker Private Capital-backed food manufacturer, has acquired Fresca Mexican Foods, a Caldwell, Idaho-based producer of flour and corn tortillas and tortilla chips. The acquisition expands CHG's tortilla manufacturing capacity, adds Fresca's 190,000 sq. ft. facility and ~375 employees, and deepens CHG's relationships with QSR, foodservice and private-label customers.
