Maverick Aviation Group Limited has acquired Bristow Instruments, a Sherwood Park, Alberta-based provider of aviation instrument sales, repair and calibration services. The deal is Maverick's inaugural platform acquisition; Bristow's former president and investor Bill Paliwoda will remain involved to support the transition as Maverick invests to expand capabilities and market presence.

United Utility Services Acquires BHI Power Delivery from Westinghouse

United Utility Services, a Bernhard Capital Partners-backed utility services platform, has acquired BHI Power Delivery from Westinghouse Electric Company. The acquisition adds BHI’s transmission, substation and distribution capabilities and more than 1,200 employees and 170+ crews, expanding United Utility’s geographic footprint and creating one of the largest independent U.S. transmission & distribution services providers.

Venture Life Group plc has agreed to acquire BBI Healthcare (BBIH), the consumer self-care division of BBI Group, from private equity owner Exponent. BBIH — owner of brands including Balance Activ, GlucoGel and LIFT with broad UK retail distribution and a Swedish manufacturing facility — was transformed under Exponent, delivering strong EBITDA growth; its managing director will leave on completion while the chairman will remain with BBI Group.

Serco Acquires Whitney, Bradley & Brown (WBB) from H.I.G. Capital

Serco Group plc has agreed to acquire Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc. (WBB), a U.S. defence advisory, engineering and technical services provider, from an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital for $295 million. The acquisition — expected to close in Q2 2021 and funded through existing debt facilities — adds roughly 1,000 employees and data-analytics, cyber and systems-engineering capabilities to Serco’s North American defence platform and is immediately accretive to earnings.
