EQOS Energie, a Triton Fund IV portfolio company, has acquired all shares of overhead line construction specialist Bilfinger FRB GmbH (Dinslaken, Germany) and Bilfinger FRB S.à r.l. (Luxembourg), effective 1 April 2019. The add-on brings approximately 180 specialists across six additional locations, expanding EQOS Energie’s project capacity and local service footprint in energy transmission and related infrastructure.

Funds advised by Triton have signed an agreement to sell EQOS, a European specialty installation and service company focused on energy, telecoms and rail infrastructure, to Eiffage Énergie Systèmes. Terms were not disclosed; under Triton EQOS reached ~EUR 459m revenue and ~1,700 employees, and Eiffage said the acquisition will help it enter and densify energy infrastructure markets in Germany and Austria.

EQOS Group, a Triton Fund IV portfolio company, has acquired Colas Rail Belgium to strengthen its Railway Technology business unit and expand into long-distance rail services in Belgium. Colas Rail Belgium (2021 revenue ~€23M, ~150 employees) will continue to operate from Enghien and Maldegem and will trade as EQOS Energie Belgium SA, broadening EQOS's offering across planning, installation, construction and maintenance of catenary lines and tracks.

Triton Sells Assemblin, EQOS Energie, Flokk and Unica into Triton IV Continuation Fund

Triton Fund IV has sold a portfolio of four companies—Assemblin, EQOS Energie, Flokk and Unica—into a new vehicle, Triton IV Continuation Fund (TIV CF), which closed at €1.63 billion. The continuation fund was underwritten by HarbourVest Partners and LGT Capital Partners with anchor commitments from Eurazeo and Pantheon, and provides liquidity to Triton Fund IV investors while allowing rollovers into the new vehicle.

EQT and OMERS Acquire Deutsche Glasfaser

EQT Infrastructure IV and OMERS Infrastructure have agreed to acquire Deutsche Glasfaser from KKR Infrastructure and Reggeborgh and will combine it with EQT's portfolio company inexio. The combined group will accelerate FTTH roll-out across rural Germany with a planned investment of over EUR 7 billion to expand gigabit-capable fiber infrastructure.

KG and its Hopper BidCo GmbH vehicle, has agreed to acquire a majority stake (82.1% aggregate interest via agreements) in Germany-headquartered renewable energy producer Tion Renewables AG from Pelion Green Future Alpha GmbH. The transaction values Tion at a base equity value of €150 million and is intended to support the company’s growth into a leading platform for solar, wind and battery storage projects across Europe.

EQT Infrastructure (EQT Infrastructure IV) agreed to acquire inexio Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KGaA from Warburg Pincus, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, the founders and several minority investors. The investment will support inexio's large-scale FTTH rollout and expansion of its fiber-optic network across rural and suburban Germany, with a stated commitment to connect 2 million households by 2030.
