Wesco Group, LLC has acquired Capital Paint and Refinish, LLC, a regional distributor of automotive paint and supplies with eleven locations across Texas, Louisiana and Colorado. The acquisition expands Wesco's nationwide footprint in the automotive refinish distribution market and brings Capital's team and customers into the Wesco organization.

H.I.G. Capital Affiliate Acquires Covestro's European Polyurethane Systems Business (Plixxent)

An affiliate of H.I.G. Capital has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Covestro AG's European Polyurethane Systems business in a carve-out transaction, with closing expected in the second half of 2019 pending regulatory clearance. The business — operating four systems houses across Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Spain and employing ~250 people with ~€230m sales — will be run independently (to operate as Plixxent) and used as a platform for pan‑European expansion and add-on acquisitions.

Terms were not disclosed; the deal expands ACS' footprint in the South (Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) and ACS will continue operating Paint Works branches under the existing Paint Works brand.

MFG Chemical (Platte River Equity) Acquires H.P. Polymers

LKQ Corporation Acquires Uni-Select Inc.

LKQ Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of Uni-Select Inc. for C$48.00 per share in cash, representing an enterprise value of approximately C$2.8 billion (US$2.1 billion). The acquisition is expected to generate about US$55 million of annual run-rate cost synergies by year three and expands LKQ's presence in automotive refinish paint and Canadian mechanical parts distribution; closing is expected in H2 2023 subject to customary approvals.

Chroma Color Corporation, a portfolio company of Arsenal Capital Partners, has acquired Epolin Chemicals LLC, a developer and manufacturer of near-infrared (NIR) absorbing dyes and thermoplastic compounds. The acquisition expands Chroma Color’s product portfolio and technical capabilities in NIR dye technology while Epolin will operate as an independent subsidiary to enable cross-selling and continued investment in R&D.
