Bioenergy DevCo, a developer and operator of anaerobic digestion facilities, received a $106 million minority growth investment from Newlight Partners LP. The capital will be used to expand Bioenergy DevCo's operational footprint across North America to build and operate additional renewable natural gas and organics-recycling facilities.

H.I.G. Infrastructure Acquires Controlling Interest in Northern Biogas

H.I.G. Capital’s infrastructure arm, H.I.G. Infrastructure, has acquired a controlling interest in Northern Biogas, a Morgantown, West Virginia–based waste-to-renewable natural gas company that develops, builds, owns and operates anaerobic digester and RNG facilities. The investment will support Northern Biogas’ development pipeline of dairy, landfill and food-waste RNG projects across the U.S. as the company scales its construction, operations and service capabilities.

Flagship Facility Services Acquires Biotechnical Services (BTS)

(BTS), a San Diego-based independent laboratory services company that provides equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance to biotech clients. BTS will join Flagship Lab Services to expand Flagship's biotech/lab services capabilities and offer enhanced equipment support and asset management to clients nationwide.

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance Acquires BioCow

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance has completed a majority acquisition of BioCow, a UK biogas producer that uses anaerobic digestion to produce biomethane from agricultural waste. The investment will fund expansion of BioCow's operations in Cambridgeshire and support a pilot to inject biomethane into the UK national transmission grid.

Covanta Acquires BIOLOGIC Environmental Services and Waste Solutions

Covanta has acquired BIOLOGIC Environmental Services and Waste Solutions, a California-based regulated waste management firm, and will integrate Biologic's Northern and Southern California facilities into its portfolio. The deal expands Covanta's western U.S. footprint and adds regulated/medical and maritime waste handling capabilities to support its sustainable materials management strategy.

Actis Acquires BioTherm Energy from Denham Capital

Actis Capital has acquired South African independent power producer BioTherm Energy from Denham Capital for an undisclosed sum. The deal transfers a portfolio of wind and solar projects (over 500 MW across operational and development stages) to Actis as it expands its renewables footprint in Africa; Jasandra Nyker, formerly BioTherm CEO, will join Denham Capital in a senior role following the exit.
