KBR Acquires Acetica Carbon Utilization Technology

KBR announced it has acquired Acetica℠, an acetic acid production / carbon-utilization technology that enables conversion of captured CO2 into high-value chemicals such as Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM). The acquisition expands KBR's petrochemicals value chain and strengthens its sustainable technology offerings for syngas and acetyls processes.

The deals add new product lines (dust control, freeze conditioning, water treatment chemicals and fuel catalysts), nine manufacturing locations (bringing Kodiak to nine production sites) and additional employees to accelerate cross-selling and service capabilities.

Technip Energies Acquires Ecovyst's Advanced Materials & Catalysts Business

Technip Energies has completed the acquisition of Ecovyst’s Advanced Materials & Catalysts (AM&C) segment in a transaction reported around $556 million, bringing approximately 330 AM&C employees into Technip. Ecovyst expects net proceeds of about $530 million (using $465 million to pay down term debt), while Technip said the deal expands its catalysts and advanced materials capabilities to support sustainable fuels, circular chemistry and carbon-capture applications.
