Stonebridge Partners announced that its portfolio company American Distributors, Inc. (ADI) has acquired Microwave Components, Inc., a specialized stocking distributor of RF/microwave and high-reliability electronic components based in Stuart, Florida. The acquisition is an add-on to ADI and is intended to expand ADI’s RF product offering and supply-chain capabilities serving Tier One aerospace and defense customers.

Brookstone Partners Acquires Virginia Abrasives

Brookstone Partners, a New York-based lower-middle-market private equity firm, completed the acquisition of Virginia Abrasives Corporation (VAC) in May 2019. VAC, headquartered in Petersburg, Virginia, manufactures and distributes sandpaper and other abrasive products to equipment rental, professional flooring and industrial flooring customers nationwide; Brookstone intends to grow VAC organically and via add-on acquisitions.

Value Added Distributors (VAD), a PE-backed distributor and fabricator, has acquired L.T.L. Supply, a family-operated wire harness and electrical-assembly manufacturer based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The add-on expands VAD's manufacturing capabilities and electrical solutions offering, bolstering its service to specialty vehicle OEMs and other mobile fluid power customers; Rotunda Capital Partners, VAD's private equity backer, supported the platform strategy.

Weiss Technik North America Acquires Dynavac

Weiss Technik North America, Inc. (WNA) has acquired all shares of Vacuum Technology Associates, doing business as Dynavac, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of high-performance vacuum systems for space simulation and thin film deposition. Dynavac will operate as a separate legal entity under WNA, retaining its employees and facilities in Hingham and Rockland, Massachusetts; the deal expands WNA's product capabilities and presence in the aerospace, defense, and precision optics markets.

Power VAC Acquires Strain Electric Company

Power VAC, LLC of Novi, Michigan acquired Strain Electric Company, a 75+-year-old electrical and utility contractor headquartered in Wyoming, Michigan. The transaction is an add-on to Power VAC’s PE-backed platform and was supported by Peninsula Capital Partners and Pillsman Partners to expand Power VAC’s geographic footprint and service offerings into Western Michigan.

AAR CORP. Acquires American Distributors (ADI)

AAR CORP. acquired American Distributors Holding Co., LLC (ADI) for $146 million in an all-cash transaction funded via AAR's existing revolving credit facility. ADI, a distributor of high-performance electronic components and provider of supply chain and manufacturing services headquartered in Randolph, New Jersey with ~400 employees and six locations across the US, UK, and India, will join AAR's Parts Supply segment to expand new parts distribution, OEM relationships, and drive margin improvement.
