Pittsburgh-based Benshaw Inc. has acquired Excel Industrial Electronics Inc., a Clinton Township, Michigan leader in drive systems, control panels and automation. The deal brings Excel's drive systems integration, PLC/PC, networking and HMI capabilities into the Benshaw Group to accelerate growth and expand Benshaw's industrial and OEM motor control solutions.

Sky Peak Capital, a New England-based private equity firm, has acquired Hicks Machine of Walpole, New Hampshire and launched Excelus Manufacturing Solutions as a holding platform for its precision machining investments. Excelus will combine Hicks and existing portfolio company Jarvis to serve aerospace & defense, medical, high-tech and commercial end markets and pursue additional machining, sheet metal, fabrication and additive manufacturing capabilities.
