Funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle acquired Worldpac, Inc. from Advance Auto Parts for $1.5 billion in cash. Worldpac — a leading distributor of automotive replacement parts with more than 100 facilities and over 5,000 employees — generated roughly $2.1 billion of revenue and ~$100 million of EBITDA over the last twelve months; Carlyle intends to operate Worldpac as an independent, growth-focused company.
