Black Bay Energy Capital acquired Merichem Company's technology business — Merichem Process Technologies and Merichem Catalyst Products — which will be renamed Merichem Technologies and operated as a standalone sulfur-treating platform. Merichem Company will retain its caustic services business while the new platform will be led by former Merichem technology leaders to expand sulfur-treatment capabilities across energy and industrial end markets.

Technip Energies has completed the acquisition of Ecovyst’s Advanced Materials & Catalysts (AM&C) segment in a transaction reported around $556 million, bringing approximately 330 AM&C employees into Technip. Ecovyst expects net proceeds of about $530 million (using $465 million to pay down term debt), while Technip said the deal expands its catalysts and advanced materials capabilities to support sustainable fuels, circular chemistry and carbon-capture applications.
