Black Bay Energy Capital acquired Merichem Company's technology business — Merichem Process Technologies and Merichem Catalyst Products — which will be renamed Merichem Technologies and operated as a standalone sulfur-treating platform. Merichem Company will retain its caustic services business while the new platform will be led by former Merichem technology leaders to expand sulfur-treatment capabilities across energy and industrial end markets.

VLS Environmental Solutions Acquires Texas Molecular

VLS Environmental Solutions, a Houston-based platform backed by I Squared Capital, has acquired Texas Molecular, a Deer Park- and Corpus Christi-based provider of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid industrial waste handling, treatment and sequestration. The acquisition expands VLS's capabilities into hazardous waste processing and sequestration; Texas Molecular manages over 75 million gallons annually and the combined platform now has more than 1,000 employees and 38 locations across North America.

Merichem Technologies Acquires Chemical Products Industries (CPI)

Merichem Technologies, a portfolio company of Black Bay Energy Capital, has closed the acquisition of Chemical Products Industries (CPI), a specialty-chemicals maker based in Oklahoma City known for its SULFURTRAP adsorbents and industrial cleaning chemistries. The acquisition will integrate CPI's products into Merichem's Catalyst Division to expand its sulfur-treatment technology suite and strengthen service across markets including renewable fuels, biogas, midstream and downstream oil & gas.
