Proofpoint, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Hornetsecurity Group, a Hanover-based provider of AI-powered Microsoft 365 security, data protection, compliance, and security awareness solutions. The acquisition (expected to close in H2 2025) expands Proofpoint's reach into the MSP channel and SMB market and brings Hornetsecurity's ~$160–200M ARR business and large MSP partner ecosystem into Proofpoint's platform.

TA Associates, PSG and Verdane Invest in Hornetsecurity

Zscaler Acquires Cloudneeti

Zscaler announced the intent to acquire Cloudneeti, a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) startup, to extend Zscaler's Cloud Security Platform with public-cloud misconfiguration detection and automated remediation capabilities. The acquisition will broaden Zscaler's data protection coverage across SaaS, IaaS and PaaS environments; terms were not disclosed and the deal was expected to close prior to Zscaler's fiscal third quarter.
