Hg, a London-based private equity firm, has invested in Litera Microsystems, a Chicago-headquartered provider of end-to-end document lifecycle and legal document productivity solutions. Terms were not disclosed; the investment was made from Hg's Genesis 8 Fund to support Litera's product development, recurring-revenue growth and global expansion in the legal and life sciences markets.

Litera Acquires Kira Systems

Litera has agreed to acquire Kira Systems, a Toronto-based leader in machine learning contract analysis, to strengthen its Transaction Management platform and expand due diligence workflows. As part of the deal, Kira majority investor Insight Partners will become a minority investor in Litera while Hg remains Litera's majority investor; Kira's AI research team will spin out as a new company, Zuva.
